Objectives

The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has been ensuring the highest standards of education for 75 years, and is a modern University that constantly modifies its educational offer. An important point of the strategy is the University's promotion on the international market, to which SUM's participation in the Erasmus+ Programme contributes. Student and staff mobility enables the exchange of experience, information on teaching programmes, transfer of knowledge, learning about foreign healthcare systems, deepening cooperation with partner institutions and acquiring new partners. Participants in the programme emphasise that mobility increases linguistic competence, as well as awareness of social diversity and a better understanding of the European Union and its values. In addition to achieving qualitative goals, the University also wants to meet quantitative objectives by steadily increasing the number of mobilities carried out. In accordance with the financial agreement 2022-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000055349, the University has assumed the implementation of the following mobilities: 1. students mobility for studies (SMS) 27 2. students mobility for traineeships (SMT) 34 3. staff mobility for teaching (STA) 4 4. staff mobility for training (STT) 7 In the implementation of project 2022-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000055349, the University wanted to place particular emphasis on the promotion of mobility for traineeships as well as mobility of academic and administrative staff, which had been scarce in previous projects.
