Objectives

This project was initiated with the objective of facilitating the internationalisation process of the university. This was to be achieved by enabling the mobility of students, graduates and staff, enhancing the quality of activities related to international exchange and encouraging an open attitude and experience of linguistic, cultural and educational diversity. In total, 38 mobilities were carried out, divided as follows: SMS 5, SMT 24 STA 3, STT 6. These included students and doctoral students (mainly in the medical field), as well as university teaching staff. The project has contributed to increasing the visibility of the university on the European academic scene, facilitating the establishment of new partnerships and enabling the exchange of best practices. Surveys of participants confirm the long-term individual benefits gained through participation in Erasmus. These include the strengthening of language competencies, the development of soft skills, the ability to adapt and act in new situations, the capacity to cooperate with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and the enhancement of self-confidence. Furthermore, increased sensitivity, the capacity to perceive and accept diversity, and the necessity to overcome various social barriers are crucial values. The mobility of participants resulted in a number of benefits at both the individual and institutional level. It contributed to the diversification and internationalisation of the university and fostered an appreciation of multiculturalism amongst individuals who were not directly involved in the mobility process.
