Our goals related to the implementation of the project can actually be considered on two levels. General goals, concerning the entire project and what we wanted to achieve through it - from the point of view of young people, people working with young people, the impact on young people in our region and the organization, as well as goals concerning individual activities within the project. On this first level, the goal was (as this is the second year of our activities under accreditation but the first such a large project) to increase the impact on young people in the region using international forms, with particular emphasis on reaching out to young people from smaller environments, rural areas, young people with fewer opportunities. At the same time, the goal was to consolidate the constant internationalization of activities conducted by EI, to show young people and youth workers the diversity of opportunities offered by EU programs, to popularize participation in them even more widely and to show what a developing adventure participation in European projects can be, to build their sense that they can create such projects themselves and create their own reality and events for young people. This is of great importance, because in Opole there have been very few E+ projects so far, and there are few organizations organizing such activities - which is why young people, especially in smaller towns, do not know about them at all, and certainly do not believe that they are available to them. That is why we encouraged young people mainly from such environments to participate, trying to "involve" in the project those young people who had never participated in the E+ exchange. In turn, the forms for staff had a slightly different profile and were focused primarily on the exchange of experiences, improving specific competences in working with young people and exchanging good practices - so as to improve the quality of everyday work with young people, learn about new solutions and methods of work, transfer the best practices from other countries to Poland, and at the same time share what is valuable in our work and develop partnerships. We feel that we managed to achieve these goals in full, even though a project of this scale and diversity was a big challenge for us. We organized 3 youth exchanges together with 3 groups of young people that we support – 2 youth councils and 1 scout troop. Importantly, the vast majority of participants were young people from small towns, participating in E+ for the first time, and young people were actually strongly involved in these activities at various stages, gaining new skills and building confidence in their abilities. In turn, the forms for staff allowed for the acquisition of new knowledge that is still used, the exchange of experiences and learning about good practices that we are actually implementing in our organizations now (we also provide examples below). At the same time, each of the activities had its specific goals. The theme of the first, Polish-Spanish exchange was “Youth unplugged” – building relationships between young people in the real world, not just online space, building self-confidence (despite comments coming from social media) and learning to express oneself, while at the same time understanding diversity, building and strengthening self-reflection among young people, which translates into this self-awareness. These goals were effectively achieved through activities led by the participants themselves (e.g. on emotions or self-expression), discussions, workshops led by leaders or a developmental journey. During the second exchange, “Time to move”, the participants wanted to encourage and develop readiness for an active, healthy and ecological lifestyle, learn about ways to function healthily and eco-friendly in everyday life, build healthy habits. These activities were not only well received by the participants themselves, but also continued by the inspired youth in their environments. In turn, during the exchange “Go on – eco adventure”, the participants wanted to learn together about ways to function in a sustainable way, close to nature, discover what a great adventure contact with nature can be and create an opportunity to reflect on their possibilities of influencing the local environment. These assumptions were also achieved to such an extent that the young scouts are planning further meetings and joint activities. The seminar for people working with youth was held under the slogan “Let’ start (up)”. It brought together youth workers from 5 countries who shared the need to develop competences and exchange experiences useful in supporting the development of entrepreneurship among young people, especially in rural areas. The aim of the study visit "New paths for the future" was to learn about Spanish solutions supporting active participation of young people, as well as creating youth-friendly spaces (especially outside metropolitan areas).
