Objectives

Through the implementation of the project titled "Put pressure on depression!" the goals were pursued, which were based on the needs of young people, who were the grassroots initiators of the project implementation and the main theme. The main theme of the activities was the issue of depression among young people, including in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.Young people from Poland and Spain, through the establishment of contact in the form of online, drew attention and concern about the escalation of the phenomenon of depression in recent times on a European scale, and decided to undertake an international dialogue on this topic and bring it to the attention of the public. The goal of the project was for young people to become more open to another culturally different person, to have the opportunity to get to know their peers from another country better, to exchange views, experiences. The participants were people for whom it is important to undertake social activities with a deeper meaning. The project also had objectives aimed at partner organizations and was an opportunity for partner organizations to establish international cooperation, gain experience in implementing EU projects and interest the public in extracurricular forms of education. Mobility allowed participants to establish a dialogue on life in modern Europe, European values, learn about the culture, customs and traditions of Poland and Spain, with a particular focus on the problem of depression among young people in both countries and ways to counteract it. Among the key objectives with regard to the participants were: - to increase knowledge of the problem of depression among young people, including in the context of COVOD-19, to learn about ways of coping with negative emotions, mental states, creating a contact database of entities offering assistance in this area; - learning about the culture, traditions, customs of the participating countries; - Developing language skills, with particular emphasis on English, basic Polish and Spanish; - development of interpersonal skills, presentation and self-presentation, ability to work in an international team; - making international acquaintances, friendships, meeting interesting people; - creative approach to life and creativity in action; - finding common values among young people living in culturally different countries; - strengthening the sense of a European citizen and developing attitudes of tolerance and openness; - motivating further development and use of extracurricular forms of education; - Increasing a sense of agency in local and European society. Participants gained international experience that facilitates their development in school, professional, personal spheres. All activities that allowed young people to strengthen intercultural, linguistic, social, personal competencies were related to the main theme and the implementation of activities related to it. FIPIK, as an applicant organization, had the opportunity to draw on the experience of Universal Mobility, which is involved in organizing work placements for young people, and knows the expectations, problems of young people from all over Europe. FIPIK shared the experience gained from the implementation of previous out-of-school youth mobility activities with a partner that has little experience in the Youth Exchange action. Thanks to the project, we were able to establish contact with a new partner from Spain, learned about the culture there, the problem of depression in Spain, and shared our own cultural wealth. The project was an opportunity to exchange good practices by keeping in touch online. The partner organizations also increased their knowledge of the phenomenon of depression among young people, making them more sensitive and alert to the problems and expectations of young Europeans in this area. The aim of the project was also to draw public attention to the problem of depression among young people, which was achieved by conducting promotional, dissemination activities, direct contact with the project recipients.
