"The Power of Words" was a common initiative of young people from Poland, Portugal, and Romania. From the very beginning, we agreed that freedom of speech is one of the fundamental human rights. The right to express one's views in public gives us great opportunities, but it does not give us the right to attack, discriminate against or hurt another human being. However, it is an increasingly common and unpleasant phenomenon that we have noticed in our surroundings and on our skin. Our views and opinions are greatly influenced by the media, which also take freedom of speech too "literally". In our opinion, freedom of speech must go hand in hand with proper media education. Only proven, reliable knowledge, based on facts and verified information that has not been manipulated or specially created, can make the human right, which is freedom of speech, fulfill its role in society without harming another individual. Therefore, the aim of our project was: - to increase knowledge and awareness of the human right of freedom of expression, in line with our beliefs, based on knowledge, but also lawful; - developing positive civic attitudes, i.e. reacting to negative behaviors that exceed freedom of speech (discrimination, hate speech, hate speech, crimes); being open, respectful to other people, and tolerant; - raising awareness and knowledge about media education; - expanding the ability to consciously, critically, responsibly, and selectively use mass media that influence our worldview and expressed opinions;
