The main aim of the youth exchange "Your body is your gym" was to bring together 25 young people from 4 different countries and to raise awareness of the importance of creating lifelong healthy habits. The goal was to be achieved through introducing the participants to different body weight exercises, various HIIT cardio exercises, diverse relaxing techniques, and a range of healthy food recipes. Many young people might have said: yes, I have to exercise, I am aware of it, but going to the gym and using supplements is very expensive! Or many young people might have said: yes, I have to exercise, I am aware of it, but I don’t have time, I am too busy! We had the solution, and this project was the answer to all of these objections. With this project, we wanted to promote different body weight exercises as one of the most flexible ways of physical activity. Everyone could do them anytime, any place. Actually, bodyweight exercises didn't require a dedicated gym, so everyone could fit in a workout whenever they had some spare time, wherever they were. To put it simply, whether someone started at zero and tried to do one press-up or someone was a seasoned athlete, bodyweight exercises could be incredibly challenging and beneficial. Progressing the exercises was also very straightforward, so everyone could keep challenging themselves and stay fit. Also, we could speak about benefits from bodyweight exercises in comparison with weightlifting. Weightlifting could take a serious toll on our body and, in particular, our joints. With bodyweight training, the stress on our joints was lower, so it was less likely to pick up an injury that could hamper our long-term training. If we wanted to stay fit, there was no need for some special equipment, barbells, or bars. Muscle growth and burning fat could occur independently of an external load, so long as we performed bodyweight exercises through their full range of motion. With this project, we also wanted to raise the importance of healthy eating. Healthy eating meant nutritious eating, i.e., eating everything in the right amount and the right way. In our busy schedules and fast lives, we often ended up eating as per convenience, rather than what is healthy. We remained quite unaware of the health hazards that this type of eating habit might pose. That’s why it was important to be aware of what kind of food we ate, whether we consumed enough vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fibers, or healthy fat. Each of these nutrients had its own individual roles to play in physical development. The participants' country national healthy dishes could provide interesting and beneficial recipes. Like this, we added also an important intercultural element to the project, raising awareness of the cultural richness of Europe. The objectives of the project were: to develop knowledge, tools, attitudes, and skills for the popularization of sport and physical activity among youth; to raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle; to ensure and increase the active participation of young people in the topic of health and well-being; to broaden the horizon of young people by sharing different visions of approaching health and well-being in their own communities; to learn about different cultures; exchange of different practices between the participants; to learn about different non-formal methods; to foster future cooperation among organizations;
