Objectives

Young adults in modern Europe face a number of challenges, such as: high competitiveness at the educational level, changing expectations on the labor market, high uncertainty related to crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic - those are just some of them. The time of youth is also full of internal development crises related to emotional maturation, searching for one's own identity, finding one's place in a peer group, entering into intimate relationships, to mention only some of them. All of these challenges can be a source of stress which, prolonged, can cause severe mental problems. For a smooth transition through the period of youth, while maintaining mental well-being, skills related to taking care of yourself and your psychophysical state as well as mental resilience are necessary. These are skills that should be part of the general psychoeducation, which, unfortunately, is not yet sufficiently popularized in the European Union countries. The vision of the people who make up the Planet of Self-Care project is a world where people take care of themselves and their psychological comfort, and thus have the resources to take care of people and matters around them. The first step in this direction is personal development in this area, sharing knowledge and experience with other people for whom this topic is important, and building a community of people who share similar values. In response to these needs, the Planet of Self Care project had been planned, the main goal of which was to organize a youth exchange, during which 30 participants from 5 European countries: 1 / will acquire knowledge in the field of mental health, psychology of emotions and mindfuleness practices. 2 / will develop skills in the field of relieving tension and stress, psychological support and non-violent communication (with oneself and others). 3 / will develop compassionate and empathetic attitudes towards their own mental health and others.
