Objectives

The aim of our project was primarily to exchange experiences regarding ecological solutions used in different countries. In this way, we wanted to increase our knowledge and awareness on this topic to be able to implement environmentally safe activities in our lives. Scientific research on ecological awareness shows that even if a community is aware of basic ecological principles, it is not able to skillfully use them and implement them into everyday life. A 2020 report by Blue Media summarizes that one third of the Polish community is unable to clearly assess the ecological situation, although they are aware of the climate crisis. Scientists and publicists related to ecological issues (physicist and editor of the "Nauka o Ziemi" portal Marcin Popkiewicz; Edwin Bendyk - author of the book "In Poland, or everywhere. A thing about the fall and the future of the world") claim that countless research reports on ecology show that awareness of environmental threats is disproportionately low to their scale and consequences. We carried out our project not to succumb to these trends, but to collect information and evidence that one person can change a lot and that this one person can be the beginning of a chain of good, ecological, everyday practices. Reliable knowledge and determination to practice positive ecological solutions is the only thing we need to take responsibility for the state of the environment in which we live. Through our project, we wanted to acquire specific behaviors that are beneficial to the environment, such as saving water, electricity, waste segregation, caring for greenery, using recycled materials, and disseminating knowledge about nature. Our design activities are a response to the problem of environmental pollution and were based on the need to introduce changes in current life. During the project, we intended to learn things that we can start doing now to save our future and that of our children.
