When we submitted the idea for "Get your ACT Together", the aim was to bring groups of young people from different countries together to discuss the importance of EU values and institutions, the impact of the EU in society, as well as to discuss youth participation and active citizenship among young people. The challenge was confronting young people with the general opinion that this generation is more alienated from societal issues and less participative in community life and citizenship. OS, the program's question was determining how youngsters think and act regarding their participation as citizens of communities, countries, and European life. Thus, the project "Get your ACT together" brought 25 people together, young people like us, with one main goal: to raise awareness of the power of change we can have if we are united. As such, the objectives of the activities were linked to the issues we wanted to tackle: Promote active youth participation; raise awareness and increase the knowledge and/or interest in EU and EU institutions; fuel the understanding of concepts such as "policies" or "decision-making," among others; reinforce European values such as democracy, equality, pluralism, and solidarity; emphasizing direct participation and the understanding of democratic processes; highlighting multiculturalism; raising awareness about the situation in Europe and worldwide.
