Understanding Foundation received a request for support in education and interest development of 3 teenagers from Zamosc. At the time, they were at the beginning of their final year of high school o were looking for an opportunity to develop their interests and a "chance to leave" Zamosc and explore European history. The Understanding Foundation, wanting to enable them to fulfill their dreams and take them on their dream tour of the Roman Empire, together with the youngsters wrote this project. The young historians planned, with the assistance of the Foundation's staff, the travel and educational goals of the expedition across Europe. The reason they were interested in this expedition was "so that, as future history students, they could see in practice the theory they would be discussing in lectures. This was to help them understand it even better." They read a lot about antiquity and its amazing inventions and buildings, and dreamed of seeing them with their own eyes. Quoting the youngsters, "Recently we've been hearing about an ancient bridge that withstood the impact of water that modern bridges couldn't withstand. We'd like to see how it's possible that people 2000 years ago built a more durable bridge with access to a fraction of modern technology." We were extremely pleased to see young history enthusiasts who had only "traveled" on the Internet and did not have the economic means to make such a trip, so we helped them and together we realized their ambitious plan they had set for themselves and thanks to the Discover EU program they were able to realize it.
