The project initially started with the aim on mutual exchange of scientists with the University of Kharkiv.Project was submitted on February23,2022.The next day everything has changed which also long-term affected the assumptions of the exchange.The exchange with the University of Kharkiv accelerated rapidly,and shortly after the project launch,we welcomed a female scientist from Ukraine.Unfortunately,according to the project’s original assumptions,she had to return to Ukraine.However,by reallocating funds(shifting from outgoing to incoming exchanges),we enabled the scientist to return to Poland to MUG,which eventually led to her permanent residence and employment.During visits the participant enhanced her skills related to modern teaching methods in the field of arterial hypertension, which allowed her to pass on knowledge, initially in-person and currently remotely, to young people in Ukraine. Therefore, even though the university aimed to enhance the competence of scientists and initiate new projects, the situation forced the achievement of new results, namely the employment of a scientist from the previous exchange at GUMed, ensuring sustainability after the project’s conclusion.
