The implementation was fully aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme, which aims to support student and staff mobility, foster the development of linguistic and intercultural competences, and strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions. The project also contributed to the overarching goal of the Programme, which is the creation of a more integrated, innovative, and open educational space in Europe and beyond. Furthermore, the project enabled the enhancement of UO's internationalisation process, in line with the objectives set by University’s Internationalisation Strategy for 2022–27. Thanks to the financial support provided under the project, it was possible not only to establish new, valuable partnerships but also to further develop those initiated in previous editions of Erasmus+. The newly established and expanded non-European partnerships, which required an individualised approach to the organisation of mobility and adjustment of the academic offer, have been responding to the need to foster cultural diversity within the academic community. They also to the strengthening international image through the promotion of UO as an open, attractive place to study – one of the University's key priorities.
