Through WO(MEN) Empowerment project we wanted to explore the work with women and men in Poland and Romania, organising various offline and online activities for adults learners which allow them to reflect on their gender roles, develop their emotional intelligence, improve their intercultural competences, get connected with people from different backgrounds and deepen their feeling of belonging to European Union.
We applied for this project to address the pressing need for inclusivity in our community's gender-related initiatives. While our previous focus on women's empowerment was important, it inadvertently excluded men. Statistics show challenges faced by both genders, from women experiencing violence to men facing health issues and reluctance to seek help. The project aimed to develop partnerships, enhance intercultural skills, and provide spaces for individuals to express themselves. By challenging traditional gender norms, it seeked to empower individuals to confront societal challenges with confidence.
