Reception and integration of refugees and migrantsInclusion, promoting equality and non-discrimination

Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to: - improve the competences of educators and people conducting educational activities for migrants/refugees through: exchange of experiences at the international level. The main focus was on the supporting role of educators in motivating and advising migrants/refugees who find themselves in difficult situations. - encourage further education of all citizens and generations. We promoted lifelong education both among migrants/refugees and citizens of Poland and Italy. Thanks to the project, we developed the transnational cooperation of our organization, drew on the experience and good practices of another EU country, and developed the competences of our staff, including, above all, the ability to use foreign languages, digital skills (thanks to online activities) and substantive skills used at work..

Background

The main goal of the project was to exchange experiences between partners in the creation and development of professional and comprehensive intercultural education centers for migrants/refugees, whose task is to socially integrate refugees into the structures of host societies. After February 24, 2022, or after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, millions of war refugees arrived in Poland. In addition to immediate, quick material and housing assistance, it was necessary to support refugees in the process of integration in the new environment, and to acquire the skills to communicate and cope with the new environment.
