To develop an interdisciplinary program that reflects how school subjects can be applied in real-life activities and to design practical resources for teachers to self-craft school trips with their pupils that focus on the UNWTO guidelines for responsible travel and the UN sustainable development goals, instead of relying on the purchase of readymade offers which often lack significant educational underpinnings.
We wanted to capitalise on the enthusiasm our pupils have towards school trips, by embedding solid educational value into these outside-of-the-classroom experiences. so that the recreational aspect would not be compromised, while adding pedagogic value.
