The main objective of the project was an effective and innovative approach to stimulating students to learn to their full potential, strengthening their self-esteem and increasing their meaningful participation in the community, regardless of their physical, cultural, social and geographical conditions. The task of the project was also to increase the skills and knowledge of teachers in this area, deepening the ways of relationships and communication with students. The most basic goal we wanted to achieve was the ability to communicate use a common language (English) to achieve the goals. However, improving language skills and the ability to communicate was one of the objectives. The second was to work on raising participants’ own value, understanding needs and expectations, as well as identifying strengths and working on elements that need improvement. This was the basis of motivation to act. We also wanted to acquire the ability to organize one's own activities with respect for the capabilities of our body, mind, i.e. generally understood well-being. By achieving the previous goals we could enhance creative action, which was based on good communication, knowledge of one's own and others' capabilities and limitations.
The originators of the project, on the basis of extensive research in their schools, pointed to the reduced motivation to learn and the lack of perception of the usefulness of learning at school and the connection of the main fields of knowledge. This situation was directly related to the reduced activity of students, the decrease in their creativity and involvement in the educational processes taking place at school, including the student's responsibility for their own learning and deterioration of the teacher-student relationship which led to the lack of efficient and high-quality communication. The project with a selected theme and activities between schools specified in the direction of increasing communication levels, motivation and creativity was supposed to influence the efficiency in the field of English language communication, but also indicate new ways of development. Our project was to provide an opportunity to show students that learning at school can be useful in a global context and serve professional and personal development, aspects that are not always noticeable by students at work on school premises and through local initiatives.
