Objectives

- Engage young people in arranging a venue for collaborative arts projects, presentation of their artwork and social encounters - Provide informal learning opportunities for young artists to share their techniques and develop multidisciplinary projects - Organise exchange events that connect young artists from different European countries - Facilitate experiences in which young artists learn how to use digital media to promote their artwork

Background

This project was an opportunity to develop a new programme of youth arts activities in Wadowice, Poland and Funchal, Portugal. The Erasmus+ grant gave us essential support in this respect. Neither of the partner organisations has been involved in comparable initiatives before. The main beneficiaries of the project were young people with artistic interests and talents. They benefited in many ways: - They could create together and share their works with others. - They could explore youth arts initiatives in other cultural contexts, not easily accessible due to distance, costs of travelling, lack of direct contact besides visiting online sites. - They could co-create a space where to exhibit their works as well as to initiate social encounters around art. - The group also included young people from less privileged families who cannot afford participating in paid after-school activities, some from rural areas outside our towns.
