The main goal of the project was to support the social and cultural inclusion of deaf youth by integrating elements of artistic and cultural education into the learning process. We aimed to create and implement innovative educational tools tailored to the special needs of students with hearing impairments, which would not only foster their personal and social development but also strengthen their sense of cultural identity. The project also sought to promote Deaf culture as an integral part of European heritage and to increase its visibility in public and educational spaces. Another objective was to support teachers and educational institutions in applying methods that enhance creativity and key competences among deaf students. Through international cooperation between partners from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, we aimed to exchange good practices, improve the quality of education, and implement sustainable educational solutions. The project also contributed to fostering civic attitudes, building cultural bridges, and promoting EU values among deaf youth.
The project was designed in response to specific, identified educational and social needs of deaf youth and their teachers in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Deaf individuals, as one of the most disadvantaged groups, face significant barriers in accessing culture and the arts—both as audiences and creators. Despite its strong developmental potential, artistic education remains marginalized in their learning process. The project aimed to address this gap by developing, testing, and implementing educational tools that support the artistic creativity of deaf students. It also took into account the lack of systemic efforts to strengthen the cultural and social identity of this group and the limited presence of Deaf culture in public and educational spaces. Moreover, the project addressed the need to internationalize experiences and exchange good practices among educational institutions from the three EU countries, while leveraging the potential of arts education to promote social and cultural inclusion.
