Objectives

Through the GIFTLED project, the partners aimed to enhance education for gifted students in STEAM by developing innovative teaching methodologies and digital tools. Our key objectives were to improve educational practices, empower teachers, support talent development, and foster digital transformation. Partners sought to: a) Enhance teaching methods by providing a digital toolkit with AR-based case studies, a handbook, and interactive learning materials. b) Train educators in innovative pedagogies, equipping them with tools to engage gifted students effectively. c) Address the unique needs of gifted students, allowing them to develop their talents through interactive and hands-on STEAM learning experiences. d) Drive digital transformation in education, integrating augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) into teaching and learning processes. e) Foster collaboration among educators, researchers, and policymakers to promote inclusive STEAM education. Ultimately, GIFTLED strived to create an inclusive, engaging, and future-ready learning environment for gifted individuals.

Background

The project was implemented to address the lack of inclusive, engaging learning opportunities for gifted students in STEAM education. Such individuals face limited access to specialized teaching methods and a lack of digital tools that challenge their abilities. This project addressed critical needs in STEAM education for gifted students by tackling: • Lack of specialized teaching methods for gifted students – Many educators struggle to provide stimulating learning experiences for talented individuals. • Limited digital tools and resources – Schools lacked augmented reality (AR) and interactive learning materials for gifted students. • Insufficient teacher training – Educators needed guidance and methods to effectively support gifted learners in STEAM • Low engagement – Gifted students often feel unchallenged in classrooms, leading to disengagement. • Barriers to inclusion – education systems fail to effectively integrate gifted students effectively; • Teachers and students lacked a dedicated digital platform for sharing innovative educational practices. By addressing these needs, GIFTLED created tools and training that enhance engagement, accessibility, and innovation in STEAM education.
