Background

The RECOVER project was designed with the aim of addressing two significant challenges in Europe: youth unemployment and the green transition efforts of the labour market. With a youth unemployment rate of 14.9% and 17.6% of young people classified as NEET at the application stage, the project intended to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the emerging field of a green economy. This includes fostering environmental literacy, green entrepreneurship, and digital competencies, aligning with the implementation of the European Green Deal. Moreover, the project recognized the need to raise awareness about the role of businesses in tackling environmental issues, thus empowering young people and youth workers to become agents of environmentally sustainable change for future generations, resulting in addressing the need for a general socio-economic recovery which was derived from the COVID-19 period.
