The primary objective of the project was to enhance social inclusion through education and training for young people facing social discrimination due to their immigrant backgrounds. The objectives we divided into categories: aimed at youth educators and volunteers, and targeted at disadvantaged young migrants. For educators and volunteers, the project aimed to: Increase competencies and improve skills, particularly in analyzing needs, using tools to access the labor market, and applying methodologies such as crowdfunding to fund social ideas. Enhance the ability to transfer knowledge through Non-Formal Education (NFE) methods, utilizing digital and interactive tools. These objectives supported the horizontal priority by upskilling educators to develop tailored content for knowledge transfer, thereby fostering social inclusion. Additionally, these objectives aligned with the vertical priority by creating educational tools to address specific needs like social entrepreneurship. For disadvantaged young migrants, the project aimed to: Equip them with knowledge of labor market analysis, business planning, and modeling. Provide a concrete methodology to fund entrepreneurial ideas, particularly through crowdfunding.
We applied for this project to address the pressing need for social inclusion and equal opportunities for young people with migrant backgrounds. Research and EU reports highlighted significant barriers faced by this group in accessing education, employment, and training, leading to higher rates of unemployment, discrimination, and social exclusion compared to their native-born peers. INTEGRA aimed to tackle these challenges by developing educational tools and methodologies to empower young migrants, foster their inclusion in the labor market, and promote youth entrepreneurship. The project aligned with EU priorities on inclusion, diversity, and labor market integration, providing innovative solutions to enhance equity and bridge existing gaps.
