Objectives

The project aimed to empower young people to manage and prevent anger-related behaviors by equipping them with tools to cope with emotional challenges and mental health issues. To achieve this, we enhanced the competencies of youth workers, focusing on innovative mindfulness techniques and modern communication tools. We developed a comprehensive booklet on anger management through mindfulness. It included practical strategies and theoretical insights to support youth workers in preventing anger behaviors. We designed and implemented a training program for youth workers, trainers, and mentors. This program enabled them to apply the project’s outcomes in youth organizations, NGOs, and youth councils. A flexible online learning platform was created, featuring small learning units for youth workers. This resource provided continuous support and enhanced the learning process. We produced an e-learning system offering self-help tools designed to assist young people in managing and preventing anger independently.

Background

We applied this project because it responded to the critical need for supporting young people (18-24) in managing anger and emotional well-being. This age group faces significant life transitions, such as entering the workforce or becoming more independent, which can create stress and emotional imbalances. The project aimed to provide practical tools, including mindfulness and self-help strategies, to help young people manage anger and prevent escalation. The project addressed the lack of support from social circles, where mental health struggles are often stigmatized or dismissed as weakness. By participating, we aimed to contribute to breaking this stigma and empowering youth to handle emotional challenges effectively. Youth workers needed both theoretical knowledge and practical tools to support young people. The project provided training in non-formal and experiential learning methods, enabling youth workers to implement anger management strategies. Access to digital resources further supported ongoing learning and application of these techniques in their work. The project met the needs of partner organizations by developing a long-term strategy to train youth workers and promote mental health awareness.
