Objectives

The Project aims to contribute to raising the digital skills of the adult population, as a factor of social inclusion and promotion of employability, in response to the emerging needs of the digital economy and societies. At a time when the adaptation of the Basic Level Key Competences Reference Benchmark (ANQEP) is also recent, there is an increasing emphasis on the area of Digital Skills, being named as area: Digital Competence (DC) which corresponds to the Core Competence Units, namely Information Literacy; Communication and Citizenship; Content Creation and Security and Privacy. Thus, we assumed that the objectives of this project would have to meet the real needs of adult learners and their work teams in an increasingly globalized world aligned with these principles. Therefore, we defined two central objectives in the project: 1) Promote the digital skills knowledge of low-skilled adults, where it is intended that the group of learners in mobility flow, will be able to increase their knowledge by at least 10%. 2) To promote the increased use of digital tools by technical-pedagogical teams working with adult learners.

Background

The AEFC is attended by over a thousand students/learners from pre-school education to the adult sector. It is a reference in the community for the Adult Education offer, since 2006 to date, currently counting with a Qualifying Center. The School offer for adults Courses of Portuguese as a Host Language, Adult Education and Training Courses – Secondary Level and response in terms of Certified Modular Training. It is important to note that over the years, the demand for training in digital skills has been constant, and the AEFC is available to provide a diversified and attractive offer in this area, along with the RVCC processes that aim to increase the qualifications of the adult population. We have a specialized technical-pedagogical team, which helps to give this project the emphasis it deserves, in the sense of enrichment and inclusion for those over 18 years old, placing no restrictions on their enrollment, whatever their profile/origin/social background/qualification level, and giving the opportunity to participate in innovative and transnational learning experiences. We would like to add to the AEFC history of ERASMUS participations, the Adult sector and the fact that it has digital skills as its driving force.
