Objectives

“S.T.E.A.M.! Supporting Teachers to Enhance students' Academic iMprovement!” aimed at achieving 4 different goals over a 12-month period. The project objectives were: -Enhance the skills of science and arts teachers to apply a more efficient STEAM approach. -Improve teachers' digital skills to ensure a more digitized learning environment and strengthen students' computer skills. -Support the implementation of the CLIL teaching methodology. -Support the improvement of students' academic performance and the internationalization of AEM.

Background

For the Agrupamento de Escolas de Murtosa, its internationalization represents a challenge as well as an opportunity, because today it is essential for every educational institution to develop a strong international dimension and deal with the outside world. The school proposed itself through “S.T.E.A.M.!” to support teachers to improve students' academic results and to develop a framework of institutional relations able to place it firmly in a structured European network. In this perspective, the need to strengthen and innovate the professional, methodological, linguistic, and digital skills of teachers has emerged through internationalization, training with structured courses, and the exchange of ideas with European colleagues, to meet the following needs: - increase students' academic achievements and their interest in STEM subjects. - support the strengthening of digital and linguistic competences of teachers. - innovate the educational offer of the school. - foster a more internationalized character in the school.
