Getting to know inclusive environments for students with different functional or cognitive disorders or students from different origins and/or ethnicities To follow a humanistic view of the school. We aim to invest in training in the area of well-being and mental health relevant for the effectiveness of the teaching process. We are a school group in the public sector, situated in Rio Maior, about 80 quilometres north of Lisbon, with aproximately 1000 students from pre-school to 9th grade, or 3 to 14 years of age, with about 120 teachers and 4 specialized technicians . Besides regular education, it includes a specific music programme. Within our Autonomy and Flexibility Project, we created a non-curricular area of study, named "Aprendizagem Ativa"(Active Learning), in which students develop interdisciplinary projects, working the subject curriculum transversely, as to include all subjects. We also invested in the less formal acquisition of skills through the existence of 15 clubs Many of our students come from the rural area, and have some cultural and social , refletindo-se em baixa autoestima, pouca motivação para estudar, dificuldades de aprendizagem em várias disciplinas, com destaque para matemática, língua portuguesa e língua inglesa. Recentemente, a nossa escola tem vindo a registar um forte aumento de alunos de origem estrangeira, maioritariamente do Brasil, Índia e Angola, obrigando a um reforço significativo de recursos humanos para a implementação de medidas de inclusão/integração destes alunos.
