Our main goal was to interact with institutions in the field of specialised music teaching, creating stable and lasting partnerships between schools and enabling the development of future artistic projects. In addition, our project also aimed to provide specific training, fostering the management and implementation of pedagogical practices in the area of creative teaching and artistic creation, but also the possibility of evolving in terms of the work carried out by the Pedagogical and Administrative Directorate, which is responsible for the organisational framework of our institution, within an organisation that also has new knowledge from the point of view of management and leadership.
CMAL - Conservatório de Música e Artes de Lagos (Lagos Conservatory of Music and Arts) is a specialised artistic music school based in the city of Lagos, which began its activity in the official music teaching sector (Articulated Teaching) in 2018. It was founded on the basis of the Grupo Coral de Lagos, a non-profit organisation with a long history in the city's music scene, which carries out its main activity in two distinct but symbiotic fields: vocational music teaching and the development of artistic and cultural activities. The aim of the project was for our conservatoire to become a European entity, acquiring tools, updating knowledge and establishing partnerships with other educational institutions at European level, not only at pedagogical but also artistic level.
