Three objectives were defined. First, understanding the value of clean water. With the support of the Science and Physics and Chemistry subjects, students carried out preparatory studies alluding to the theme, namely the study of the impact of human influence on aquatic ecosystems and pollution was carried out. Second, develop foreign language skills. The importance of forming citizens of the world is always relevant. Through this project, students and teachers have the opportunity to increase their skills in the use of the English language. Constant communication compels and in turn helps in the addition of skills acquisition. Upon returning, as a rule, students and teachers demonstrate greater autonomy and ease in future situations where they find themselves having to communicate in English. This is also reflected in students in classroom contexts, as they return with more self-confidence. Third, acquire new learning methodologies. By contacting partners with a common theme, the exchange of knowledge on different learning methodologies were frequent. The main topics related to the project are 'Environment and climate change'; 'New learning and teaching methods and approaches' and 'Work-based learning'.
Externato Paulo VI is a school located in the heart of the city of Braga and has diversified educational programs that cover students from 3 to 15 years old who live mostly in urban areas. This project allowed us to continue and deepen the search for innovation, change, modernization and internationalization, raising the quality of teaching/learning to excellence. In this sense, Externato Paulo VI started this path through the project "INNOVATION & CHANGE - MODERN SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT", planning mobility activities for teaching and non-teaching staff in a broader strategic framework and in the medium term. Recognizing the fact that Externato Paulo VI is located in the centre of one of the largest cities in the North of Portugal where students are in constant contact with the digital world, a broad training for teachers was sought, allowing them to always be up to date. Being part of the European Community, where English is the main language of communication, a project of this level was considered an added value because it allowed teachers and students to practise the English language in context, a factor that is more favourable than formal learning.
