Objectives

The group is still in the process of implementing this project, intending to extend new methodologies in the STEAM area to all teachers in the subject areas in question, with AERT3 now experiencing a process of evolution in work methodologies, with a view to standardization of the teaching and learning process in order to achieve essential learning in STEAM, trying to overcome fluctuations in student performance that are a challenge for the implementation of more dynamic methodologies that are better suited to the specificities of different classes. The experiences acquired through participation in this project have constant added value in the regular work of AERT3, namely in terms of the acquisition of: - language skills: improvement of comprehension, oral and written expression skills; - use of technologies in the classroom (ICT) - increased work between peers and increased communication with European partners, especially in the STEAM areas. - there was the inclusion of more teachers and students in virtual communities for sharing and discussion. - the use of new and different teaching methodologies centered on students, capable of fostering critical thinking and creativity.

Background

The implementation and development of this project is related to the fact that the Rio Tinto school group no. 3 (AERT3) attempts to substantiate the application of the guiding principles defined by article 4 of Decree-Law no. July, with regard to the organization, curriculum management and assessment in Basic Education, in conjunction with the Group's Educational Project and the Innovation Plan. In this way, at AERT3, the aim is to train students who are open to change, multicultural, digital, autonomous, who work collaboratively and in a network, focusing on different curricular offers, namely in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles, CLIL classes and secondary education. This application was aimed at 3rd cycle students and secondary school students studying Science and Technology and Visual Arts courses in order to make teaching more homogeneous and learning aimed at each and every one, surrounded by innovation, responsibility, citizenship, development of different literacies and equal opportunities.
