The Agrupamento de Escolas do Crato hopes that, with the participation in this European project and through all the activities developed in it, - the motivation of students and teachers can be increased. - that there is an improvement in student learning and interest in school and in the learning process of the students - that the linguistic competence of both students and teachers is increased. - that the interest for learning foreign languages is strengthened - that families consider the existence of these international projects as an added value
The rationale for applying for this project is as follows: Agrupamento de Escolas do Crato is located in a region with low social and economic expectations. Unemployment reaches high levels. The main employer is the City Council. Families generally have a low level of academic training. It is at school that many students take their only hot meal. This situation makes the students have very low motivation and consider the school, more as a place for meeting their peers and having fun than for learning.
