Background

Our school, EB1/PE/C Lombo do Guiné is located in the municipality of Calheta, Madeira Island. Our teaching staff consists of 28 teachers and 102 students. We are a school that welcomes students from 3 months to 10 years old. Our institution has daycare, pre-school and first cycle. We also teach Adult Education. Our classes start at 8:30am and end at 6:30pm. This school is located in a rural area. As such, we are an outermost region and we feel the need to broaden horizons, acquire new and diverse strategies to innovate our teaching. In accordance with the objectives of our School Educational Project, we identified some weaknesses and decided, together, to develop an Erasmus Project that would allow us to evolve and design education at a European level. We have a relatively young and dynamic teaching staff, with a great desire to learn, work, teach and contribute to a better school.
