The Paredes de Coura School Group (AEPC) carried out a diagnosis in the 2020/2021 academic year, using the SELFIE and CHECK-IN applications, of the digital skills of Teaching Staff and Students. With the same purpose, The Group's Technological Support Team assessed the digital skills of its non-teaching staff by deliberate monitoring their performance. This diagnosis led to the implementation of a digital development plan at AEPC under the title "Learning with Digital" for the 2021/2025 academic years and in which dimensions are established on which it is necessary to act with the aim of promoting the educational success of students and develop the performance of management and administrative bodies and administrative services. This plan envisages intervening in the technological and digital, pedagogical, and organizational dimensions of the AEPC from the point of view of its digital transformation. To the level of the technological and digital dimension, the Municipality of Paredes de Coura equipped, in December 2021, the three schools of the group with 79 computers and collaborative work was carried out between the Municipality's IT technicians and the teachers of the AEPC technological support team.
AEPC is dedicated to pursuing studies in higher education. Our schools include students from pre-school to secondary education. The subjects studied are Portuguese, Literature, English, French, Spanish, History, Geography, Mathematics, Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Philosophy, Music, Art, Physical Education, Religious Studies and ICT and in secondary education, the group has Languages and Humanities and Science and Technology courses. We teach a Basic Music Course from the 4th to the 9th year, which is the result of a partnership with the Academia de Viana do Castelo. Our main concern is to use innovative teaching and learning strategies aiming for teaching that is in line with the good practices of European secondary education, taking into account different skills and different learning rhythms and different origins and/or social status, also aware that the School makes a difference in your environment of development medium-low economic status. At the moment, the group of schools has a digital project underway, in which the aim is for students and teachers to increasingly use digital skills and tools in their learning.
