The urgency of global issues such as climate change, social inequality, and cultural preservation demands collaborative efforts on an international scale. Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa (Portugal) and Kokkola High School (Finland) are united in their dedication to fostering sustainable development and intercultural understanding among students. Both have a strong history of active participation in international projects, particularly the Erasmus program, covering themes such as environmental sustainability, digital literacy, and social inclusion with the aim to empower students to become active global citizens. This collaboration is grounded in a shared belief in the importance of collaborative action for sustainable development at local, national, and international levels. By integrating sustainability into their educational programs, both schools prepare students to become responsible citizens and contributors to a more equitable and inclusive society. This partnership exemplifies the power of international cooperation in education, enriching learning experiences and contributing to building a more sustainable and equitable world while promoting cross-cultural understanding and empowering the next global leaders' generation.
