With this project we intended to give trainees who attended the 3rd year of professional courses and who were selected to participate in the mobility, learning opportunities in an international context. Our objectives were: to increase the quality of initial vocational education and training; strengthen key competences and soft skills, in particular foreign language learning and digital skills; contact with the best professional practices and promote the use of innovative pedagogical methods and technologies and also reinforce the European dimension of teaching and learning. We also intended to promote the values of inclusion and diversity, tolerance and democratic participation as well as gender equality.
Based on the objectives that the European Union has defined in terms of employment, innovation, democratic participation and social inclusion, the "Agrupamento de Escolas de Pombal" from now on entitled "AEP" carried out all the planned training activities according to these values. Therefore, we carried out the thirteen short-term mobilities planned for trainees of our professional courses, valuing commitment, dedication, attendance and knowledge of foreign languages, in particular English, and we also included in this number of mobilities students with economic needs (fewer opportunities) who would, otherwise, not be able to have access to labour market experience outside their country of origin. Therefore, of these mobilities, five were for trainees with economic needs who benefited from grade A or B of the Social Service (1 student for each course). The duration of the mobilities (63 days) was agreed among the management of the group represented by the headmaster, the coordinator of professional courses and also the project coordinator as well as the other two members of the team.
