Background

Centro de Educação Integral (CEI) is a private school founded in 1988 in S. João da Madeira. Starting out as just a pre-school, the Educational Project has grown and today it is a benchmark in the education of children and young people in the region. CEI provides families with a complete and integrated educational offer from nursery school to the end of compulsory schooling. In secondary education, we have been offering VET courses for over 15 years, and this level is the focus of this application. At all levels of education, we have a strong focus on the development of each student as a person, as an active citizen prepared for the challenges of life in society. We excel in doing a remarkable job of recovering students at risk of dropping out of school, with graduate rates of over 85% in vocational courses. CEI has held the EQAVET seal of conformity since August 2020, having been revalidated in 2024. Thus, this project suggests itself in the context of motivating vocational education students, both for the experience lived in mobility directly by the participants and for the sharing carried out throughout the community, and for the enthusiasm and better preparation of the teachers who also participate in the project.
