Background

ESFGA appears in 1989 in S. Domingos de Rana, Cascais. The EFGA School Group, from 2007/2008, is made up of: 1 Basic and Secondary School (Headquarters); 5 Basic Education Schools, 3 with Kindergarten. About 2000 students attend and it has 179 teachers and 50 employees. The School Grouping serves a population with a low socio-economic background, with low qualifications and low educational expectations, in a territory where 70% of the neighborhood is of Social Rehousing of Cascais, with a significant migrant population. Contrary to the global movement to reduce school population, the number of students has been increasing. The School Mission is oriented towards promoting equal opportunities, a sense of solidarity and democratic participation, along with educational success, in regular education and in the VET Education. This School Project covers the 5 existing VET Courses, based on the School Group's Internationalization Strategy. There is also an Erasmus+ Scholar Project for Regular Education that promotes student exchange and teacher training. The Centre for Educational Resources implements several projects, to promote participatory citizenship, literacy and sustainability at all levels of education.
