Objectives

The ERASMUS program has been a key tool in underpinning the International Cooperation strategy, recording a remarkable growth through the different typologies of mobility. For several years now, this program has been a clear investment on increasing UTAD’s internationalization levels and the quality of its actors. Among the general objectives of this application, we point out the increase in the number and quality of student, graduate, teacher and staff mobility in UTAD, the evolution in quality multilateral cooperation with top European educational institutions, and the strengthening of the degree of transparency and compatibility between higher education qualifications, namely through participation in the International Credit Mobility and Blended Intensive Programmes projects. The Erasmus project is fundamental to the development of UTAD's international dimension, due to its scope, impact on the academic community, and cooperation with stakeholders, enabling the development of the knowledge triangle (teaching, industry, and innovation) and alignment with the needs of the labor market. Student mobility (1, 2 and 3 cycles) along with staff mobility, innovative curricular modules and Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), the ECTS system, which is extremely important in the architecture of the University Area, bilateral cooperation programs inside and outside Europe, thematic networks and research projects are essential objectives in the construction of UTAD's internationalization strategy. Increasing the number of student flows (studies and internships) and staff flows (teaching and training) are crucial to fostering multilateral cooperation, which is essential for UTAD's sustainability (in a low-density territory), as an inclusive and global university open to the city, the region, the country and the world.
