ISAL is located on the island of Madeira, in the Atlantic Ocean. Considering that this island is an outermost region and taking into account the challenges inherent in insularity, the Erasmus+ programme represents a unique opportunity for ISAL to project its image across borders, promote transnational cooperation between higher education institutions, foster intercultural exchange, establish new partnerships, coordinate and/or integrate European projects, promote innovation, competitiveness and entrepreneurship, obtain recognition for its study programmes and academic degrees in Europe and maximize its impact on the modernization of Europe. Under the Erasmus+ programme, ISAL's main priority is the mobility of students for studies and internships, according to the plans for the first study programmes, followed by the mobility of teachers and staff. The positive feedback we have received over the years from both incoming and outgoing students motivates us to continue working to increase the level of satisfaction among participants. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme is in line with ISAL's internationalization strategy, which aims to improve and increase the mobility of students and staff, as well as the number of partner universities.
