Internationalisation is a priority and a pillar of the strategic policy of the five HEIs involved in the JAMIES Project. The project, coordinated by UMinho, in collaboration with UAlg, NOVA, U.Porto and UTAD, had the following main objectives: - Respond to the urgent challenge of supporting the modernisation and development of HEIs in the Southern Mediterranean countries by promoting and organising mobility flows for students and staff in various relevant areas; - To contribute to the development of the education system in that region and, consequently, to assist in the reconstruction of the countries; - To promote internationally relevant teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities between HEIs; - To increase the visibility and global profile of the HEIs involved in this project; - Contribute to the dissemination of common and democratic values, encouraging participation in democratic life and interaction with different cultures, leading to greater inclusion and acceptance of diversity; - Promote the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme, through the transfer of knowledge regarding new and innovative teaching/learning methods and the introduction of more sustainable governance.
