Internationalisation is a priority and a pillar of the strategic policy of the three HEIs involved in the PEERS Project. The project, coordinated by UMinho, in collaboration with UAveiro and UEvora, had the following main objectives: - To contribute to the development of HEIs in partner countries and bring them closer to EU standards; - To promote the modernisation of HEIs through mobility, academic cooperation and capacity-building activities; - To provide teaching, research and knowledge transfer between HEIs; - Ensure the global visibility of Portuguese universities in partner countries, specifically in Albania, Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo and Ukraine. - Promote the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme through the transfer of knowledge regarding new and innovative teaching/learning methods and more sustainable governance; - Promote participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement, inclusion and diversity. Through interaction with different cultures, institutions and countries, the PEERS consortium aims to contribute to the adoption of European and democratic values.
