The main objectives of the UMoveME project - University of Minho Overseas Mobility Experience - were: - To contribute to the development, internationalisation and competitiveness of the HEIs involved; - To improve the personal and professional skills of students, teaching and non-teaching staff; - To share and promote the acquisition of knowledge; - To share and implement good practices; - To increase and consolidate collaboration between UMinho and HEIs in the above-mentioned countries; - To promote institutional development by strengthening teaching and research capacities, structures and practices; - Develop joint research and teaching activities in areas of strategic importance to the participating HEIs; - Increase the number of transnational projects aimed at the internationalisation and innovation of curricula and teaching methods; - Increase the international recognition and visibility of UMinho and partner institutions; - Strengthen the education of European and global citizens, promoting their critical engagement and ability to contribute to a multicultural, multilingual, inclusive and open-minded Europe; - Better respond to the major societal challenges of the 21st century in Europe and the world.
