As part of its internationalization policy, the University of Aveiro (UAveiro) considers it essential to foster global interinstitutional cooperation and the mobility of students, faculty, and technical-administrative and management (TAG) staff. Mobility projects, both within Europe and with third-country institutions, allow the academic community to benefit from exchange and training experiences. The International Credit Mobility (ICM) project is a fundamental tool for this objective, with the UAveiro seeking to: promote partnerships between higher education institutions in different countries and the exchange of knowledge and best practices; encourage the international mobility of students, faculty, and TAG staff by providing study, teaching, and training periods abroad; strengthen the international dimension of the institutions involved; develop intercultural, linguistic, and academic skills; promote diversity and inclusion, making HEIs more open to diverse backgrounds; improve the quality of higher education through the sharing of experiences; and consolidate international relations, strengthening ties between countries and regions through education and academic diplomacy.
