Objectives

The primary target audience of the project included the institutions involved in the project, along with the teachers and students working within these institutions. The wider target audience of the project consisted of equivalent institutions in the regions where the consortium schools are located, their staff, students, and universities. Today, the rapid changes in the fields of science and technology have increased the demand for a qualified workforce in societies. To reach a qualified workforce, it has become inevitable for educational institutions to adopt innovation-based teaching methods. In our project, we aimed to support the reduction of the skilled workforce gap in countries at a societal level by applying STEM-based activities through an interdisciplinary educational approach targeting students. By integrating STEM education with the fields of Arts and Entrepreneurship, the project seeked to enable students to apply Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to real-world problems and to develop STEM literacy acting as a bridge between schools, communities, and the business world. The project activities aimed to enhance teachers' competencies in this field at an international level.

Background

In the 21st century, STEM education plays a vital role in preparing individuals and societies for the future, leading technological innovations, and providing solutions to global challenges. Integrating the STEM education model into educational institutions is of strategic importance to meet the needs of modern societies and economies. Our project aims to integrate this educational model into secondary-level institutions and ensure that schools adapt to technological advancements.Nowadays it is not enough for individuals to merely possess knowledge; they must also know how to apply it. Therefore, the project's activities are designed to equip students with 21st-century skills such as collaboration, creativity, digital literacy, and adaptability. The activities implemented in our project have enhanced the professional skills of teachers in secondary institutions in STEM education and have helped students develop their analytical and critical thinking skills. Enhancing the professional skills of staff working in this field has facilitated the use of this educational model in schools and the incorporation of innovative technologies into the school environment-Educational activities have supported students' development in these areas
