The main objective of the Digital Skills 4 All (DS4A) project was to digitally empower secondary school students and teachers through innovative, accessible, and free educational resources that foster the effective integration of digital competences into the curriculum. Specific goals included: strengthening students’ digital skills, media literacy, and digital citizenship; equipping teachers with up-to-date pedagogical tools and knowledge; developing inclusive educational products such as a gamified platform, a MOOC for teachers, and an e-book for students; promoting European cooperation and the exchange of good practices; and contributing to the digital transformation of education, in line with the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan. Key results included: the development of a strategic plan, a gamified digital platform, an interactive e-book, a MOOC, an official website, a participatory visual identity, and monitoring and evaluation tools for the project.
The application for the Digital Skills 4 All (DS4A) project arose from the need to respond to the challenge of digital transition within the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, marked by the increasing digitalisation of society and the economy. This transformation requires equipping young people and teachers with essential digital skills, promoting equal opportunities and inclusion. Schools play a central role and must integrate technology across the curriculum while ensuring access to digital resources. The partner organisations identified significant gaps in the digital literacy of both students and teachers, particularly in areas such as online safety, responsible use of technology, and the effective integration of digital tools in teaching. Moreover, teachers lacked access to continuous training and innovative pedagogical resources. DS4A sought to address these needs through inclusive educational solutions, such as gamification, promoting a critical and safe approach to digital education. The project also established a common European pedagogical strategy, aligned with the Digital Education Action Plan.
