European society is increasingly heterogeneous and diverse, a reality familiar to the youth sector and which has given rise to numerous European strategies to promote social inclusion, diversity, cohesion and equity. However, contrary to what is expected of a diverse and plural society, exclusion, stereotypes, discrimination, prejudice and bullying are still a reality that tends to gain relevance in this volatile and digital world. Faced with this reality, there are still groups of citizens who do not have access to opportunities and who do not benefit from whole life, such as people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ groups, migrants, ethnic minorities, young people from rural areas, young NEETs, etc., which contributes to the social exclusion of these groups. With the Inclusion Center's mission being to defend and promote the rights and interests of people in situations of social vulnerability (especially people with disabilities) and to support the social and community inclusion of these citizens, our medium and long-term strategy in the youth sector is based on developing responses to the challenges and problems detected in Europe (and in Portugal). Because we recognize that the challenges and problems are complex, only an articulated and properly structured response can address them, so we see participation in the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation scheme as an opportunity to play this role as an organization with an impact on the youth sector in terms of inclusion, diversity, equity and cohesion. The social problem of the project: Social exclusion of young people in situations of social vulnerability, such as young people with disabilities, LGBTQI+, migrants, ethnic minorities, from rural areas, NEETs, etc. Therefore, the objectives defined were as follows: OBJ 1 - Train youth workers. Description: We wanted to empower youth workers with new learning and skills that would enable them to develop personally, socially and professionally and contribute to improving and innovating the practices implemented in the youth sector, particularly regarding inclusion, equity and diversity. OBJ 2 - Empowering young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities. Description: We wanted to promote the learning process and the development of key competencies in young people, mainly through non-formal and informal practices and in multicultural and diverse contexts, making them active, participatory, critical and aware agents of society. Working with young people with fewer opportunities, we want them to recognize and internalize European values so that they promote them and that situations of discrimination, stereotypes, prejudice, racism, etc., do not occur and, if they are targeted, they know how to identify them and act accordingly. All this will be done focusing on the power of information, communication and language, making young people agents of change in building more inclusive societies. OBJ 3 - Encourage international cooperation in the youth sector. Description: We wanted to promote the development of projects through partnerships with different organizations in the youth sector, including those with varying areas of expertise, active in different backgrounds and from other European countries.
