Being young means experiencing an intense physical and psychological transformation, in which young people build the foundations for an independent life and define plans for the future. For this reason, youth is a turbulent phase that requires young people to be highly adaptable and prepared for the daily challenges that come their way. In addition to the natural challenges of this phase, many young people are victims of social exclusion and therefore have limited prospects for their future. According to Eurostat (2020), 25.1% of young Europeans and 24.4% of young Portuguese are currently at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Aware of the daily challenges faced by the youth sector, CVP Sanguedo created the youth department (Corpo Local da Juventude de Sanguedo) and outlined structured short- and medium-term objectives to promote the youth sector's development. Given that young people are the group that represents the hope and sustainability of Europe and that they will be the future leaders, intercultural ambassadors and agents of change, it was crucial to invest in their present and future. This vision was clearly in line with the Erasmus+ Program, which shows the suitability of this Accreditation for the program's short and medium-term objectives and consequent application for the 2022 Funding Request.
