Objectives

The youth engaged with the partnering entities were becoming increasingly alarmed about environmental challenges and expressed a desire to mitigate these pressing concerns. It's been observed that while young individuals recognize the environmental impact of contemporary actions, they're often unsure about the practices and steps that characterize an eco-conscious individual. New content addressing waste management is continually surfacing online, and given that this isn't part of their formal education, youth find it hard to stay updated. For instance, were you aware that paper cups aren't suited for paper recycling bins due to their plastic lining? This makes them non-recyclable. There's a noticeable deficit in the knowledge, abilities, and mindset among young individuals regarding sustainable European citizenship. The project's outlined goals were effectively met: Objective number 1. To foster a sense of active citizenship in the field of environmental protection among 28 young participants. This was achieved by providing them with practical, hands-on experiences and activities that allow them to actively engage in environmental protection initiatives. Objective number 2. To enhance the knowledge and skills of 28 young participants regarding effective strategies and actions to adopt environmentally friendly practices. Through various educational activities and workshops, the project equipped the participants with the necessary tools and understanding to make informed decisions and take practical steps towards becoming more environmentally conscious. Objective number 3: To increase the capacity of the 4 partner organizations to engage in international projects in the field of environment protection. By collaborating on this youth exchange project, the organizations gained valuable experience, improved their project management skills, and strengthen their international cooperation and networking abilities in the environmental sector. For every associated entity, this initiative was a chance to refine their European-level undertakings and elevate the caliber of informal education methodologies employed. Aligning with the 8th Youth Objective - Emphasizing High-Quality Learning, the initiative aimed to inspire young individuals from different backgrounds to partake in cross-border exchanges, thereby augmenting their intercultural insights. Simultaneously, this venture underscored the 9th Objective - Ensuring Inclusivity and Active Participation and the 10th Objective - Championing a Sustainable Eco-friendly Europe. This was done by empowering the youth to recognize feasible solutions and facilitating their active contribution to these initiatives.
