Objectives

Project Idea: From this contextualization, the A.T.I. was born from the identification of the social problem that was and is the prejudice and discrimination considered as a great obstacle for young people with ASD and with FO, which hinders their social inclusion. A.T.I. reinforced the inclusion and the improvement of the quality of life of this target group through the development of a mobility activity, with actions aimed at their capacity building of Youth Workers (YW) based on the Erasmus+ Strategy for Inclusion and Diversity. The project appeared as a solution for solving adversities such as: -Difficulties in dealing with social situations, thus hindering their inclusion and increasing the social isolation of young people with ASD and with FO. -Discomfort and anxiety, and other associated problems such as decreased self-esteem and increased feelings of helplessness. -Difficulties in understanding about the signs of the environment (e.g., understanding prejudiced jokes and metaphors). Naivety often ends up being a threat to social exclusion. Project Objectives: General Objective: -To develop practices for the social inclusion of youth with ASD by developing skills in Youth Workers and participating organizations. Specific Objectives: -To make Youth Workers capable of working towards social inclusion of young people with ASD and with FO, through the development of Lifelong Learning (DLL) skills. -Ensure quality learning together with YW, from the identification and discussion of intervention strategies with young people with ASD and FO. -Raise community awareness about the importance of European rights and values (human dignity, freedom, equality, tolerance, non-discrimination, solidarity, justice and pluralism.
