By implementing the project, we aimed to reduce the behavioral problems of the students in our school, such as indiscipline and bullying. For this, first of all it was necessary a change in the attitude of teachers and principals, that is why we proposed to improve the skills of all teachers in the sense of effective management of student behaviors such as indiscipline and bullying. The most important action of the project was the course followed by 15 teachers in Cyprus, ("Facing behavioral problems - indiscipline, racism and bullying in classrooms"). All the other colleagues benefited from dissemination and courses taught by those who were in Cyprus. We wanted the project to succeed in improving the learning atmosphere in the school and creating a safe environment, which would lead to an increase in school motivation and a reduction in absenteeism, to school success measured in access to higher education or better insertion on the labor market. The project helped us achieve in the classrooms the parameters of an atmosphere comparable to those of elite schools in foreign countries, increasing the European dimension of the institution and helping to realize our mission: "A European school for our students".
„Alexandru Ioan Cuza" Economic High School is a higher secondary education unit, with technological and vocational classes. High school education includes the specializations: - Technician in economic activities; - Technician in tourism; - Banqueting organizer. In professional education there are specializations: - Waiter; - Merchant - seller; - Hotel worker; - Cook; - Confectioner - pastry chef; - Hairdresser-hairstylist-manicurist-pedicurist. Almost 70% of our students come from families at risk of social exclusion and almost 40% of them have parents working abroad. Thus, many of them are victims of some tendencies towards parental neglect or come from disorganized, single-parent families (even foster care centers) which fail to offer them the necessary support for the correct management of inappropriate behaviors. 69% of the students come from rural areas, so the family's collaboration with the school is deficient. Many high school students are part of families with financial difficulties. This background makes children prone to indiscipline and bullying behaviors, and that is why intervened the necessity to take firm measures to combat it.
