The objectives of this project were set as a result of the needs and challenges identified in our organisation and on the local labor market: O1. Improving digital skills for good management of the accommodation unit, for sustainable tourism/eco-tourism, for 15 students from the 10th grade, Tourism technician, bilingual English, with ECVET and Europass recognition.Internship partner agencies cannot provide the necessary digital skills training, and the classes in the curriculum do not include applied training. It is necessary to adapt the training as the development of digital skills and abilities has become essential for efficient, quality services for sustainable tourism; O2. Increasing the degree of participation in mobility to at least 40% students from disadvantaged backgrounds to ensure equity, inclusion and equal opportunities. This corresponds to Priority 5 PAS, regarding equal opportunities and access, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender and disabilities, promoting inclusion and, involving diversity; O3. The development of attitudes/behaviors for 15 students, EU framework, through social-cultural values of the community, for sustainable tourism/eco-tourism, increasing resilience in the face of global challenges.
We wrote this project as our vocational high school had difficulties in organizing the internship due to the decrease of the activity of economic agents in a pandemic context, we also monitored our graduates and noticed a gradual decrease in their number willing to continue their careers in the field of hospitality. We wanted to boost their motivation and interest and attract further students in this field by organizing the internship according to curriculum/level of performance in technology through European training projects. As the labor market needs qualified personnel, our partners and, by extension, the entire community will highly benefit from the knowledge and expertise of students trained at European standards, especially as apart from this Erasmus+ program, there is no interest to invest in their professional and personal growth. Our high school elaborated CDL and CDS for this field, however, they need to be improved according to market requirements, emphasizing the digitization of training -CDL class X Workplace responsibility in tourism, as well as the correlation of CDL with CDS English for Hotel Industry. Furthermore, the action plan of our school includes promoting multiculturalism through knowledge of UE values.
