Objectives

The project had 2 objectives. Objective 1 was: "Improving the digital skills necessary for computerized operations specific to the activity in tourism, for 16 students, specialized in Tourism Technician, 12th grade". Objective 2 was: "Improving the transfer skills of methods and techniques specific to digitized operations in tourism and their adaptation to the instructional-educational process for 4 teachers specialized in tourism". Through these objectives, we first of all tried to respond to the priority related to digital transformation, the necessity of which appears very clearly (even from the current pandemic situation that we have experienced). By implementing the project, we also wanted to increase the European dimension of our school, to introduce its results into the daily activity of the school, to improve the digital skills of students and teachers, to improve the language skills of the participants, to build the conditions for a better insertion of our students on the labor market.

Background

"Alexandru Ioan Cuza" Economic High School is a higher secondary education unit, with IX - XII grades at high school and technological and professional education classes. High school education includes the following specializations: - Technician in economic activities; - Technician in tourism; - Banqueting organizer. In professional education there are the following specializations: - Waiter; - Merchant - seller; - Hotel worker; - Cook; - Pastry chef; - Hairdresser-hairstylist-manicurist-pedicurist. Being a high school in the technological sector, it allowed us to apply for an Erasmus+ project of vocational training and education of the type KA 122 VET. We applied for a project in the field of tourism, in the context where 186 students were enrolled in the tourism technician specialization at the high school, and 55 in the hotel workers specialization through the vocational school. We selected for mobility students from the XII th grade - high school classes - to help them integrate into the labor market. Our students are between the ages of 14 and 18. Almost 70% of them come from families at risk of social exclusion and almost 40% of them have parents working abroad. 69% of the students come from rural areas.
